This made me think of Lombardi’s quote about winning (which you could sub excellence for)…being an all the time thing.

Oddly, I’ve just started to listen to classical music in the last few months…first time in my life.

New Masters piece sounds cool!!

Very true! That’s why Lombardi is Lombardi. And that’s interesting! Was that something in particular that prompted you to start listening to it? It’s seriously changed my life.

I needed to find a way to be able to write in public spaces (planes, cheer stuff, even libraries)…where there is chatter and such. Any other music seems to distract me. Figured I’d give classical a try, and lo and behold!

That's one of the reasons I listen, too! Hope it keeps working well for you!

I appreciate how you also point out that excellence goes beyond art and into things that are presumed as lowly, menial work. They are all opportunities for excellence to shine through. Reminds me of a fundamental point in Tim Keller’s book Every Good Endeavor, a great book connecting faith and work. Looking forward to future Masters of the Craft articles.

Absolutely, you make the point beautifully. I’m not too familiar with Keller’s work, though I’ve heard of him. Going to add this to my reading list! And thank you, I look forward to writing them!

Based on your writing, I think you’ll really like that book and Keller’s work in general. He was a generational talent and changed a lot of lives through his teaching and preaching.
